Grandmaster Eric O'Neal, Sr. excels at everything he puts his mind to do. He's is the seven time USKA World Karate Champion (the title that Chuck Norris formerly held) and has been inducted into the International Karate Hall of Fame (with Bruce Lee) in 1988 and the Masters Hall of Fame in 2008. He's a motivational speaker and the author of twenty eight graphic novels. I feel that he is definitely the next "King of Karate"! He graciously took time out of his very busy schedule to speak with us.

Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall Of Honors Announces "Outstanding Contributions To The Martial Arts As A Grand Master Award" To Grand Master Eric "LIONMAN" O'Neal Sr.

NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- Grand Master Eric "LIONMAN" O'Neal Sr., is off to receive yet another Hall of Fame induction at the 12th annual Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors in Atlantic City this weekend. Grand Master O'Neal is very excited about being honored by his Martial Arts peers, for it is a fantastic way to start off the New Year. He will be receiving the "Outstanding Contributions to the Martial Arts as a Grand Master award, which is a very fitting an honor to receive after many years of hard work and dedication to the art form.

In 2011, O'Neal has been very busy with promoting his Graphic Novel 20-city tour for the Disney Martial Arts Festival in Anaheim, California, where he selected the 7 Young American Heroes that promote the importance of Education, Respect and Martial Arts to communities throughout the country. Also, the LIONMAN FOUNDATION, INC., has been very active in organizing an event with the First Lady Michelle Obama's "Lets Move" Campaign, The Presidential Challenge and The Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) where children can receive a PALA patch and certificate from the President for participating in Grandmaster O'Neal's "The Legend of LIONMAN Presidential 1 Million Kick challenge in Washington D.C. on September 7th. The goal is to help "kick obesity out of America, " and we are celebrating by going live online this Friday January 20, 2012 on LIONMAN1Mkick.com. so that everyone can register on the site and become apart of history, when the Guinness book of world records documents our nation kicking obesity out of America. O'Neal also featured his Graphic Novel collection at the Essence Festival last year and at the Comic Con International Festival in San Diego, California. He is known for his motivational speaking, touring the country and giving the keynote address at the Masters Hall of Fame for which he is the Vice President of Marketing.

Grand Master Alan Goldberg who is the CEO of Action Martial Arts Magazine has been keeping the news current in the fighting World for 22 years. The Hall of Honors is affectionately known as the Academy Awards of Martial Arts, and coordinates a wonderful ceremony to honor the notable people in the Martial Arts world, such as Grand Master O'Neal who is always using Martial Arts principles and drills to reach the youth worldwide. After decades of practicing Kuro Bushi Kai Karate do Kempo and LION-MAN-Karate Do Kempo, as well as several other Martial Arts styles, Grand Master O'Neal has won 7 consecutive United States Karate Alliance (U.S.K.A.) World Championships. He has opened 37 karate schools in the southwest region (prior to Hurricane Katrina), and has set up Mathematics and Science tutoring programs in the New Orleans Public Schools as well teaching Martial Arts free of charge. O'Neal is currently partnered with Bp, Capitol One Bank, Xavier and Dillard University, Volunteers of America and others to continue his mission of educating the world one child at a time.
